Just like regular tea kettles that are heated on a stove top to produce hot water, electric kettles often make a whistling noise that lets the user know that the water has reached the boiling point and it is ready to be used.
Although many people that drink tea absolutely love the sound of their kettle whistling to let them know that the water is hot, there are times when it is necessary to keep down the noise level while still being able to enjoy a piping hot cup of tea. That is why quiet electric kettles are becoming even more prominent these days.
A perfect example of a time when a quiet electric kettle might be used is when the person lives with someone that is easily awakened by noises, such as the whistling sound that is made by the release of gas from a kettle of boiling water. Using a quiet electric kettle allows the person to relax with a nice cup of hot tea and not worry that the other person will be awakened by the whistling noise of the kettle.
This is especially important to parents of light sleeping infants that have finally managed to get the child down for a nap and want to relax with a cup of tea. It is equally important if the light sleeper is the person’s spouse and they have different work schedules where one’s day ends when the other’s day is just beginning.
Another example of when it is a good time to use a quiet electric kettle is when someone needs hot water during work hours. Some people work in large office buildings and only have a small cubicle for their space. Using a quiet electric kettle allows them to prepare a cup of a hot tea or instant coffee right there in their cubicle without disturbing their coworkers with the whistle of a kettle.
In addition to making hot beverages, some people also use their quiet electric kettles in their work cubicles to heat water that is used to make instant soups or one serving noodle dishes so that they can have an inexpensive lunch without the need to eat cafeteria food or go outside the building in bad weather.
Some of the larger hotels will often equip their guest rooms with quiet electric kettles so that the guests can enjoy the comfort and convenience of having a cup of hot tea or coffee right in their room.
By equipping the rooms with quiet electric kettles, the hotels do not receive complaints from any of the guests in the nearby rooms that would be disturbed by the whistling of a kettle. In addition, since the electric kettles are only used to heat water, they are easy to clean and maintain. Often, the housekeeping staff will keep clean electric kettles on their cart to exchange them with any that have been used. The collected used electric kettles are returned to the kitchen to be cleaned by the staff there.
